The end...

It's the very last day of 2008.

I know! It just came at me without warning.

The loudest of the voices in my head just keeps screaming,

"How did we get here?"

I am constantly amazed at how quickly time passes. I remember my mom telling me as a child that every year gets faster.

"Is that even possible?" she cries out again.

If it is I can't imagine what life will feel like at 50, because 25 is soaring at the speed of light.

2008 has been filled with new adventures.

The Lord continues to show me that he loves me by blessing me in ways that I would have never even known to ask for.

So I leave you with a list.

28 things 2008 delivered:


  1. A challenging job that has taught me so much about myself
  2. Being a bridesmaid in a couple great friends' weddings - Lisa & Claire
  3. The birth of a bunch of sweet babies - Soraya, Breanah, Grace, Heidi, Naomi Grace
  4. A new camera
  5. A national economic crisis
  6. Loving photography and learning to use it as more than a hobby
  7. My first summer with a grown up job
  8. A couple of drives to Tyler to visit camp friends
  9. 2 trips to Missouri to celebrate - my sweet Grandpa's 80th birthday & aunt and uncle's 25th anniversary
  10. An outstanding trip to Colorado with Rachel and Steph
  11. A blast vacation/wedding trip to Tahoe with the fam.
  12. My first Austin City Limits experience
  13. My 25th birthday
  14. A wonderful new roommate!
  15. A new college friend - yep that's you, Tammie.
  16. Amazing new co-workers who have become some of my very favorite people
  17. A new HUGE bedroom, a new office and a new blog
  18. A new church that I love and continued involvement there
  19. A huge hurricane in my hometown
  20. A new American Idol and Biggest Loser
  21. A passion for orphans
  22. A summer college small group
  23. Blonde hair (almost)
  24. My first year since high school to live in the same town as my favorite sister
  25. A stomach bug that came at a terrible time
  26. A crazy presidential campaign and election
  27. An emotional roller coaster ride that has sharpened me immensely and continues to teach me so much about me.
