a puppy?

I did it!

I got a puppy. His name is Beau*

Some said it would never be done.

Shoot, I said it would never be done.

I suppose that's what I get for being so hard-headed.

No more, though.

Now, I'm a dog owner.

The story is simple.

I am well loved by my family and friends. I don't deserve it, but I have people in my life who love me well regardless.

Beau is the dogchild of Zoe.

Zoe is the dog pet of my cousin Sarah.

When I met this adorable little guy, my dog hating heart turned to mush. All those things I've ever said about dogs not being worth it, about it being too sad to get attached and lose them, about it being too much work to raise a puppy, etc faded away in a few short seconds.

I looked into his cute little brown eyes and melted.

No worries, no rash decisions, it was fine. I would continue to love this dog from a distance, because he was far too expensive for my pocketbook (seriously, what's a pocketbook?).

My heart would harden again and I would move on with hating man's best friend.

NOPE! That's not how the story ends.

I wish I could tell you that I won the lottery and that's how I afforded Beau.

I didn't.

I got a text from Sarah two short weeks after meeting my sweet Beau asking if I would like to have him...for FREE.

WHAT?

free.

I mean...duh!!! I was shocked, but the answer was simple.

Of course I wanted that little lump of presh...

So, here we are only one week later, I get sweet 8 week old Beau.

Eat your heart out, dog-haters.

*No copying occurred in the naming of this dog. Incidentally, I named my pup Beau BEFORE our president named his BO. My dog is NOT named Barak Obama...it's just Beau.
