awwww tum.

I love autumn!

Right now, it's my favorite season.

I love when I have to put a thick robe on to take the dog out in the mornings. I love walking outside after work when the sun is in just the right spot and the air is just crisp enough to make me walk a little faster to my car. I love temperatures that invite me to the park to fly a kite, and allow me to lay outside on a blanket with a good book. I love seeing the colors change and watching the leaves fall....

...well, not in Texas. The leaves don't exactly change colors in Texas. Texas weather jumps straight from autumn to spring with an hour for winter. Which means, new leaves nearly grow on top of old leaves. I'm confident they only fall because there's not enough room on the branch for them all.

That said, I've decided to take short autumn trips every year to enjoy the colors changing. You'll remember last year I visited my family in Missouri and enjoyed the colors change.

This year I had the tremendous pleasure of spending several days with one of my very best friends and her two week old daughter in Kentucky (more to come on this).

I'm not sure I anticipated the unbelievable landscape of Louisville, regardless I was pleasantly surprised. The following are from a walk we took in a park in town.

I think if I lived here, I would go running or walking three times a day.

KY 01

::Yep, apparently enough people ride unicycles in this town that it's necessary to alert drivers...I love it::

KY 02

::see? color::

KY 04

KY 05

KY 03

Also, it turns out my birthday is on the first day of autumn most years! This year I asked my dad why they didn't name me Autumn. Wouldn't it be great to be named Autumn? Who doesn't love Autumn?
