My Family's Grown!

I grew up with miniature schnauzers. I think my family's had close to ten in my lifetime. The Schmales seems to get addicted to things (Continental Airlines, certain doctors, Residence Inns, Outback Steakhouse, Gringos, etc).

Our sweet dog, Sam, (schnauzer number nine) is 84 years-old and not getting any younger. Our sweet brother, Ben, is moving out this month.

Sam's age + Ben's age/lifestage + Mother's Day = Canton trip for a new dog for mom with her girls.

What started out as a quick trip to "check out the pups" with mom turned into significant family growth.

Don't worry...I did NOT get a new pet. I'm still very happy and satisfied with the one I have.

BUT...

After a weekend with the Schmale girls in Canton, you better believe there are two more pets in our family!! We just couldn't seem to resist those adorable little baby critters.

Pets

Internet, meet Hugo Welch (I think that's the name they decided on)

Hugo-2

Though a surprise to her new dad, Charlie, this Manx/Siamese mix will bring life into an already full of life home. (Oh and don't worry...there's nothing wrong with him. It's pretty normal that Manx don't have tails.)

Hugo

And for mom, we twisted her arm enough and she decided to veer from the norm. Meet Hurley Schmale - an oh so adorable giant schnauzer (only 6 weeks old).

Hurley-2

This guy will be 24-26 in. when full grown and close to 85 lbs. (much larger than the pups I grew up with)

Hurley

So...I guess it's sort of like I have a new brother and a nephew...sort of.

Welcome to the family, guys!

And...if Charlie and Dad have anything to do with it, these three Schmale girls will NEVER go to Canton alone again.
