The heat this great state boasts throughout the super sunny months keeps me movin'. There was just so much fun to be had all over Texas so I traveled. Every weekend a different corner of the Lone Star State hosted me - visiting people I love, shooting a wedding, standing in a wedding or some other great adventure.
It was fabulous!
One of my grandest summer adventures, though, was packing up and ROAD TRIPPIN' out to Cali!
My dear friend and roommate calls the L.A. area home, so we decided to live it up and drive out to visit her fam one week in July. And live it up we did.
The drive alone would have been a sufficient vacay, but our Cali time topped it off to be an amazing week. From wineries to Santa Monica nights, to fireworks and Venice Beach - the Rubey family knows how to entertain!

Arizona is the hottest state in the universe - 107 and DRY as a bone...I started hallucinating.
11th of July party in the park, fireworks and World Cup Championship all in one day...SUPERB!!
Fabulous Venice Beach did not disappoint
and the Santa Barbara wineries...sigh

Rubey and I knocked out the drive home...we packed sandwiches for the road and did not stop except for gas (which we nearly missed a couple times - anybody live close to Ozona, TX for the next time when we actually end up on the side of the road in the desert?)
Home Again! Home Again! YAY!!!
As we face the fall...I love the memories I'll always have from Summ 2010!
