Isn't it bizarre that that day in early September is called Labor Day when that is precisely what you do not do on that day?I guess it's to honor those who do labor, but you think they would call it something like Nolabor Day. I can't lie, a day off work puts any holiday very high on my list of favorites.
Labor Day weekend 2008 I celebrated with a lovely visit from a best friend. Hayley came down from Dallas to e*plore and enjoy Austin. On Saturday we decided to enjoy the great outdoors. After a short drive through the hill country we landed at Reimers Ranch.
The day was packed full with hiking, a dip in the lake and a final stop at the classic Salt Lick Barbeque in Driftwood, T*.
Here are a few photos:
Rachel brought Bailey along for the journey. I'm not so sure this day will go down as one of Bailey's favorites. Let's just say hiking is not her thing.

I couldn't resist. I just love this photo of Steph.

I sure do like this about Austin.

Thanks so much, girls, for a lovely day in the sun. And thanks, Uncle Sam, for the day off work!
