This is the Day, This is the Day...

Obama's staff*

People keep telling me that today is a historical day. Turns out we've got a new president.

It seems to have happened pretty quickly. I remember sitting in my junior history class at good 'ol FHS talking about the close call between Bush and Gore in 2000. Then watching dear old GW be sworn in in January of the following year...chills!

Inaugurations are pretty fascinating to me. I think anything historical is fascinating to me.

I remember where I was on September 11, 2001.

Do you think one day I'll tell my kids that I remember where I was on January 20, 2009?

It's crazy to think that we're living in a time that will be written about in history books for years to come. I don't know how to articulate that feeling any better, but it really does get me thinking.

I don't want to sit on the sidelines of history.

I want to be a world changer.

I want to effect my culture.

I want to see big things happen in my day.

I get fired up at the possibility of all that God could do with a people passionate about seeing his name made great.

So regardless of how today left you feeling, be excited that you witnessed history & be motivated to move in a way that would effect your world for good.

Now for the actual reason for this post.

I found a fascinating site that I think you'll enjoy.

If you click the photo above it will take you to a site called Obama's People.

Nadav Kandar, a NY Times photographer, photographed Obama's staff individually and the shots turned out so cool. It's a really cool way to get to know his staff.

So after you comment here to tell me how you feel about this historic day, seriously check out this site. Be sure to listen to the back story too.

It'll be a neat little educational experience for you...

What are you waiting for? Go change the world.

*Sure enough, it's Bobby Gates...I got to shake his hand a couple times in college, once when I received my diploma. Whoop! Did you know that he sat in an undisclosed location today while the world celebrated BHO's inauguration in case something terrible happened? Gig 'em.

I know what you mean. As I watched Obama's speech today I couldn't help but remember what it was like to stand out in the freezing cold four years ago hearing W give his own speech. And remember what it was like to work in his White House even only for a summer. I'll miss him and Laura for sure.

This whole election has left Robert and I itching to be a little older and little more experienced so we can be the one's shaping GOP policy and influencing history and the political scene. Maybe we will, someday in the future.
