I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again...I have the best family (and friends) in the world!
No...for real.
Though I'm a couple months behind in my blog world, I figured it was better late than never on these photos from my dad's birthday family trip to Washington DC.
We never did DC as kids, and I'm pretty ok with having saved it for adulthood. I think I appreciated it 100 times more.
Visiting museums, attending rallies, eating great food, riding the metro and laughing a TON in our nations capital will go down as one of my favorite family vacays so far.
So enjoy the pics...and be jealous. Face it, you wish your family was as cool as mine.
We saw some monuments.

Did you hear Glenn Beck was in DC...it was crowded! and HOT! but super cool to be a part of history.

Ben drooled as we walked through the Air and Space Museum. I LOVED hearing him talk about what he loves!

Thank you, The Smithsonian!

Did I say we appreciated things? I should have said I appreciated the museums and things. Rachel discovered nertz on her phone...and never looked back (or up).

All weekend mom asked to see the botanical garden. I'm so glad we made it there before we flew out that last day. Aren't the flowers beautiful?

No other city is filled with so many historical white buildings...I tell you what if I could live in any city besides ATX...this might be it!

It was really cool to see the monument at Arlington Cemetery to the crew of the Columbia. There's Mr. Rick!

All in all...I love DC.
You ever been? What'd we miss?

Beautiful pics!!
Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Where they print money. Fascinating. But make sure you don't go while they're on lunch break! I'm sure you rode the Metro (subway)... my grandfather was the head engineer who helped build it. I love going there! He had a lifetime pass to ride it and would always take us downtown. Miss that place.
