Connections

In the last couple years I've learned A LOT about myself!

One of the things I've learned is that I love making connections.

I love connecting people to each other.

I love helping people to get jobs or roommates or friends.

It may even be a little annoying to those around me at times.

When someone says, "I'm moving to (fill in the blank here)." My mind almost simultaneously goes into speedster mode trying to think of who I know there that they could meet and be friends with, or work for, etc.

Often I have to remind myself that they may not need my help...it's likely that they can make friends on their own or that they would like to choose their own career.

One of my very favorite things is watching people or things that I love meet and love each other or work well together.

In Austin the Lord has really blessed me by doing this. He's connected the things I love and spend my time doing.

For instance, I really like taking pictures. Incidentally, a good portion of my job has become photographing kids and activities at the children's home!

But one of the neatest connections the Lord has made is between my church, my work & Pine Cove - a place I love and that God has used quite a bit in my life.

He's allowed me to be a part of this connection in small simple ways, but the following video is literally like a gift to me from the Lord. I almost can't watch it without getting tears in my eyes. It's special to me for so many reasons:

The Stone is doing a phenomenal three week series right now entitled Money Matters. It has been terribly challenging. I encourage anyone to look up the podcast and listen to the sermons (total of 3 sermons after Sun, Aug 2.). They put together this video for ths Sunday's service:

Thanks, Lord, for "connections"!

I love that too, when people you know and love fall in love with other people/things you know and love... that's good.

I also love that you use the word "incidentally".

I don't love that you only let me see about 200 characters of your posts on my feed reader... but I'll get over it.

Okay! Speaking of connections.....

A precious family (Glasco's) at our new church in Brenham is moving their daughter to Austin. They are an incredible family that has taken us under their wing, so I figured at the very least, I should connect their daughter with a good solid church to visit. I will check out the link on your post and pass it along.

But, I would love to give her your info too and connect her with an amazing gal such as yourself!

Call me next time you head to Brenham!

Love,
Lyns

Hi Jess,
Long time, no see. I did want to extend an invitation to you however to the "Out of Debt Celebration" over here in Bryan. I don't think I have your email, so I post a comment. It is this Saturday, Aug 9, 10 - 3, at Barney and Joanna's.
Hope things are going well.

Jimmy

Hey Jessica! It's Mrs. Cole from Grace. I saw your mom today and she told me about your blog. I am a blogger too. My husband and I spent a little over a year and a half living in the Caribbean, so I started my blog to stay "connected" with friends and family! I'll keep reading!
